“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family…” – Ephesians 1:4–5 (NLT)

Before the world was made… He chose me.

Not when I got my act together.
Not when I figured everything out.
Not when I finally fit into what others said a “real Christian” should look like.

Before anything — before the shame, the fear, the questioning, or the silence — God had already chosen me.
Already loved me.
Already saw me as someone worth calling “holy and blameless in His sight.”

So often we try so hard to earn what had already been freely given.

Like many of us, I’ve worn too many masks. Some I crafted to survive. Some I used to win the acceptance of others. Others I picked up because I believed I needed to “look the part” for God to truly want me.
But this verse? It cuts through all of that.

It reminds me — and maybe you need to hear this too — that our truest identity isn’t found in performance, appearance, or approval, …or even our sexuality.

It’s found in Christ.

It’s found in being chosen.

🕊 You Are Not a Mistake.

You are not the exception to God’s love. You were not an afterthought.
You were adopted into a family that doesn’t require you to pretend or be perfect — only to be present and willing to receive and seeking to grow.

And this identity changes everything!

It gives us the freedom to stop striving.
It invites us to walk boldly.
It calls us to love others, not from a place of insecurity, but from abundance.

💡 Call to Action: Step Into Your Identity

Today, I challenge you — not just to believe this truth, but to live from it.

🔹 Write this down somewhere visible: “I am chosen, loved, and seen – I am a child of God!”
🔹 Say it aloud every morning this week.
🔹 Then, ask God: “How can I reflect this love today — to myself, and to someone else?”

You don’t have to earn what’s already yours.
Just receive it.
And live as one who is already loved.
